What do Sundays look like for kids?

Sunday School (Ages 4+)

Our Sunday School program is a smooth transition from our Nursery program. Check your kids in at the nursery and part way through service they will go next door to engage in a Bible lesson to learn more about who God is and who God created them to be.

Our nursery is open during worship and welcomes children from birth to 7 years old.

Children’s Moment

We believe kids are a vital part of our community! We love the chance to support our kids as they grow in the Lord. Our Sunday service features a small section  where our pastor engages with the children specifically .

What to expect when you arrive

Check-In

Check in your child at the Sunday School room east of the fellowship hall.

Receive Your Pager

If you are checking your child into the nursery you will receive a small pager in case we need to contact you during the service.

Pick Up

Kids wait in the classroom while you return the pager and verify you are their parent or guardian.

Kids FAQs

  • Do I need to bring anything? Can I leave my diaper bag with you? Will you change my child’s diaper?
    You can leave a diaper bag for someone to change the child. If you have any special instructions to help us better care for your child please let us know!
  • Do volunteers have background checks?
    Your child’s safety is our top priority, which is why every volunteer at Waynedale UMC has a background check.

 

  • Will you contact me during the service if my child needs assistance?
    Yes, we have a pager system that will alert you during the service that you are needed in the Sunday School room or nursery.
  • Is there somewhere I can go to nurse my child?
    Inquire at the nursery and they will help you find a quiet, private place to nurse your child.
