Making Disciples of Jesus for the Transformation of the World!

Miscellaneous

Field Trips

A school field trip permission form, signed by the parent or guardian, must be returned when the child starts school.  This form will be kept on file in order for the child to participate in field trip activities.

Each child's safety seat will be needed for all field trips that require volunteer parent drivers.

Information is sent home prior to each trip.

Messages

Verbal messages from children are unreliable.  A note or call to the school office regarding visitation, birthday treats, transportation changes, illness, etc. is required.

Newsletters

Newsletters concerning all events are provided to keep parents informed.

School Dress Code

Children should wear washable play clothing.  To help children become self-reliant we ask parents to consider comfort and provide simple clothing that is free of complicated fastenings.   No body suits or belts!

For student's safety:  Appropriate footwear is gym shoes or rubber soled shoes.  No thong type sandals are permitted.

We enjoy God's great outdoors and utilize the playground, weather permitting.  Children should be dressed for outside play on nice days.

Guidance

All good-byes at the classroom door.  This allows the teachers to attend to the needs of her students.  Tears usually dry more quickly if the parent or guardian leaves immediately.  Parents are ask to view activities and student participation from the hall.

Visitors

We welcome classroom visitation.  Parents and guardians only, no siblings!  To coordinate visitation with scheduled activities, we ask parents to call ahead.

Special Activities

Teachers will discuss Show and Tell, Snack, Birthdays and much more at orientation.

Parent Teacher Conferences / Student Evaluations

Readiness testing for students will take place 3 times a year.....fall, mid year and early spring.  A copy of each screening will be made available to parents so the child's progress may be followed.

If the teacher feels a parent teacher conference is in the best interest of the child the family will be notified.

The child's parent may schedule a conference at any time during the school year by calling the school office.

All information concerning students is strictly confidential and is not discussed outside the classroom.
